The Portrait Session

with Tricia Charles

Whether we’re working with dogs, horses or humans, the process of the portrait session is almost identical. Learn about the steps involved here, along with the investment options available too.

  • 2 golden retrievers sitting on a boardwalk at sunrise

Step 1 - schedule your session

First things first, book your session. Choose your date and time and provide a little bit of information, I will contact you shortly to set up a virtual pre-session call to connect which usually takes 15-20 minutes. During the call we will discuss your thoughts and ideas for our session but most importantly ensures your questions are answered and I will walk through all the details of my process so you are comfortable with me and my services.

  • Step 2 - Session Day!

This is the fun part! Meeting you and your four-legged friend are always the best part for me. What can you expect? We will meet and go for a walk. As we walk we stop and take images. This way I can capture as many different photos as possible to provide you with a variety of photos to choose from.

  • Step 3 - Preparing your images

Now the work (really I love it!) begins. I will go through all the photos I took during our session and hand pick only the best. Then the magic happens! Next I begin to edit the photos to give them a polished and artistic feel. This is what sets my photos apart. You will be proud to hang these photos on your walls and share them with others. This process takes about 3-6 weeks. Once they are ready, we will schedule a time for the viewing.

  • Step 4 - Viewing Session

The Reveal. The moment you've been waiting for! We meet again, this time I get to present you with the final images. I will work with you to help you pick your favorites!

You've seen the selection of images. Now you have the opportunity to see how they can be applied, on canvas, lustre prints, fine art prints or framed prints. I use a premium professional print lab so  you will only receive high quality products. I will provide samples for you to see and touch so you can make an informed decision on what to order.

Orders will be closed at the viewing session. Please ensure that all decision makers are present during the viewing session.

  • Step 5 - Receiving your artwork

The day has arrived and your order has been received! Products take approximately 3-4 weeks to receive. I will personally arrange  delivery with you. All products are inspected by me before you receive them to ensure they are perfect for you. Let’s not forget the Client Spotlight Drawing where we will get a snapshot of you with your new artwork!

Tricia beautifully captured our dogs and their personalities in our photoshoot. She was patient, understanding, and had so many tricks to help them look their best and stay relaxed in a new environment. Can’t wait to do more!

Unbelievably talented photographer! Tricia was the nicest, so calm, and patient with our little pup Ranger. I couldn’t believe the quality of the photos, just perfection. Ranger was on a collar and a leash, and she magically made him look like he was a free roaming pup! Just excellence. Thank you so much for the lifelong memories!
