Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Unforgettably adorable Photos in Dog Photography

I say this every year, but where did the time go?! In 2024, I was busy working on a new service to offer all of you! I’m excited to finally share with you what I’ve been up to. My project took me all over, with dog photography shoots in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Greenfield, Massachusetts, and Framingham, Massachusetts. And what was I shooting? PUPPIES!

Puppies!

What is cuter than puppies?? NOTHING! And I was fortunate enough to shoot some real cuties this year!! My puppy project was to help me work out a new service called the Puppy Journey Sessions. This new puppy journey session Tricia Charles Photography is now offering consists of 3 sessions throughout the first year of your new puppy’s life to capture their first year’s growth. I worked with some amazing pet owners who allowed me to follow their puppy’s growth over 2024. Here are our stars:

Shadow & Chelsea

Shadow was just a wee little puggle when we first met. He was only 3 months old. Oh man, what a little cutie! Timid yet curious, he was just so sweet. All 3 sessions were held in Framingham Massachusetts. The next time we met, the energy was abound. growing into a healthy energetic pup. He had a nose for mischief but was still a super sweet puppy. Our last meeting was in July, it was quite hot that day! As you can see Shadow was now fully grown and quite a bit larger than in his first shoot. Chelsea his owner was incredible to work with and did an amazing job keeping with a theme and her amazingly gorgeous smile just made every image wonderful!

Daphne

Daphne is a long-haired dachshund and was so small and only 3 months old when I first met her. All of Daphne’s sessions were held in Plymouth Massachusetts. She did her sessions with the help of her slightly older sister Sophie. Who was a little more confident and I could see that Daphne was eager to learn from Sophie. You can see in the images above how incredible Daphne’s coat is. This made for beautiful shots. You can see how much she’d grown over the 8 months and how beautiful her coat was coming in. Such a fun pup to work with. Her owners were so kind and it was a family affair, everyone showed up to help Daphne through her photo sessions. Such a wonderful experience.

She-Wolf

Now She-wolf was an interesting session. All her sessions were in Greenfield Massachusetts. She was actually wandering the owner’s property when I arrived the first day. I was taking pictures of some other puppies at the same time. So I didn’t end up getting her pictures until a couple of months later. But each time I could see her getting a little bigger, a little more mature. The one thing I noticed with all the puppies was the energy! They all just wanted to move and explore. She-wolf was no exception! But again, just an absolute sweetheart! And she could hold a pose! Just look at her little tail in the last image, straight up like a pro. She-wolfs owner is a breeder of Cairn Terriers and she was wonderful to work with. If you love Cairn Terriers check out her Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/Bat.GCH.Maverston.Double.Dutch

My puppy sessions came to an end in the late summer. It was a huge learning experience for me and one that has me so grateful for their owners who took the time out of their busy schedules to allow me this opportunity so that I could then pass along this service to all of you. If you have adopted or will be acquiring a puppy in 2025, and want to document your puppy’s journey to adulthood my new service is as follows:
